My friend and I stayed at Riverside Hotel in May 2025 and were delighted to get a booking again in August 2025. This is a very friendly place with a lovely family feel. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Vic and all of the staff do their best to help with all sorts of questions. Great breakfasts and lots of free parking.

Stayed here last weekend as part of a wedding party. We had 4 nights here including breakfast. Firstly all I can say is Vicky, Matt and the rest of the team looked after us better than most 4 star hotels I've stayed in. Is it the Ritz? No, but then you're not paying those prices. We had room 7, it was massive with a comfy double bed, big bathroom and powerful shower. The rooms I agree are a little dated and could maybe do with a revamp, but for the price they were ok. It's an old building so it's going to have its creaky floorboards and thinner walls but we managed to sleep ok despite the heatwave!. The thing that sets this hotel apart is the staff. They were ALL so friendly, accommodating and bent over backwards to make sure our stay (and my dad's big day) went without a hitch. Breakfast was good and cooked fresh to order and you could have whatever you wanted and then some! Tea and coffee replenished as needed and fresh toast aplenty to accompany your cooked brekkie. All in all, it's a great value hotel, perfect for exploring Monmouthshire and we will definately be visiting again!
